toothies!

Mily is 6 months 1 week and 1 day old (as of yesterday) which is when her very first tooth came through! She was so good the whole day and I didn't even know one was coming through! She never fusses except when she is tired, but every now and then she would whimper but I didn't think much about it.  But it is on the bottom left side and just the tip is through.  I tried taking a picture of it but you can't see anything at all.  I am so excited but sad because my little gummy baby isn't gummy anymore.  She is growing up.

6 months & turkey day!

So this past week was Mily's very first Thanksgiving.  The celebration started Wed when Mily's Nana, Great Uncle Allen, and Cuncles Brice and Matthew got here.  Then later that night Mily's Great Aunt Kim and Great Uncle Jake got here.  And Mily stayed up past her bedtime just to see them when they got here, and of course they brought her a Tennessee onesie.  Then Thursday morning we all woke up to a fantastic breakfast that Nana made.  And around lunchtime Mily's Great Aunt Jan and Great Uncle Remy got here just in time to eat the giant feast! We had such a good time hanging out with all of them and of course Mily absolutely loved all the attention.

Everything wore her out!

Then Sat Mily experienced her very first of many Gamecock wins over Clemson.

So needless to say we had a very enjoyable Thanksgiving week.  Mily turned 6 months on Monday!  It is so crazy that she is already half a year, I can't believe how fast time is going by.  She started her rice cereal at 5 months old and she has really enjoyed it and taken to the spoon very fast.  Her usual sleep schedule is from about 8:30 pm to 7:00 am, so she is doing great.  She is almost sitting up by herself, she still has trouble with her balance.  Her favorite thing to do is to stand up, and look around at everything.  She is becoming so aware of everything going on around her.  At her doctor appointment today she weighed 14.35 lbs and was 25 1/4 inches long.  She is about the 30th percentile in about everything which is good.  We are going to start her on yellow and orange veggies this week too!  So I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

5 months already

So Mily will be 5 months tomorrow, which is crazy!  It seems like it was just yesterday that she was born.  I took her to the doctor in Tuesday for them to check her out because she has had horrible gas and just hasn't been herself and they said she was healthy.  I decided to switch her formula to the Isomil, which is soy, to help with her gas and spitting up.  Oh, and when we were at the doctor she weighed 13.1 pounds.  So she has gained 10 pounds since her lowest weight after she was born.  Also while we were at the doctor he told me to start trying to feed her cereal, so we have tried it once this week and she hasn't seemed that into it.  She just kept pushing the spoon out with her tongue, but towards the end she started getting the hang of it.

A few weekends ago I bought her a jumper.  She will play in it and watch it light up, and she jumps every now and then but she doesn't quiet get it.  Her little feet don't touch the ground so I have some of my old yearbooks under her.
She can also some what stand up with my assistance, but she has to be in the mood.  Her sleeping has stayed about the same, last night she went to bed around 10:30 and slept till 8:30, which is good.  Gradually as we incorporate the cereal into her diet she should start sleeping more.  The doctor said when she gets to eating it 3 times day then she will start sleeping from about 8 -8 or 7-7, so I am looking forward to that.

Love doesn't make the world go 'round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile <3

Mily is now 4 months and 2 weeks old.  I just bought her a little mat that has toys hanging down from it and she loves playing with it.  She has found her hands and plays with them and stares at them and she lifts her feet up while she is laying on her back.  She has continued to sleep amazing at night.  And she has become a big talker and loves when people talk to her.  She has become very good at saying "ohh" and she has started giggling a lot.  She loves going for walks in her stroller and rides in the car.  She also likes to cheer for the Gamecocks during their games.

Everyone has someone in their life that keeps them looking forward to another day.

Mily turned 4 months yesterday! And we had her 4 month check-up today, which went very well.  She is 23 3/4 in long and 11.10 lbs.  She is in the 31 percentile of 4 month old baby girls in length, which is amazing.  No one would be able to tell that she was 2 months early! She is developing such a social personality.  She loves attention and when people talk to her she just smiles and talks right back to them.  She has the cutest little smile, with her chubby cheeks and and dimples! She loves bath time and splashing around in the tub.  We got her pictures taken tonight, which she wouldn't smile that much while we were taking pics but when got out to the car she was all smiles! We go Sat to get some more done, so hopefully she will smile big for those.  She still loves to sleep in my bed with me, but we are getting to where she sleeps in her pack-n-play until she wakes up around 6 to eat and then I put her in my bed.  She is a good snuggler if she wants to be, but sometimes she will scoot over and if I am touching her she is squeal until I move over.  She usually ends up taking the whole bed and I have just enough room to lay on my side.  It still amazes me that she is my daughter that she is part of me.  I never thought my life would be like this but I absolutely love it and would not have it any other way.

a gamecock baby :D

Mily is 14 weeks old!  She is starting to fit tightly into her newborn outfits, but the 0-3 outfits are still way big on her.  She has recently discovered her tongue and she plays with it pretty much all the time.  She has also been sleeping really great.  She will go down about 11 and then wake up between 5 and 6 to eat then go back to sleep till about 10.  She is able to go longer without eating but she isn't eating much more at the feedings, which is fine with me.  She has gotten to where she can hold her head up pretty much all the time all by herself.  She has also started wanting to hold onto things, like she will fall asleep holding her socks in her hand.  This past Thursday we went to her first Gamecock football party.  She has USC outfits but they are still to big so she just wore her bib, but she was super cute.

This past week she also rolled over for real this time.  She was laying on the bed and I was standing next to the bed folding her clothes and talking to her and she kept trying to roll over to look at me and then she finally did! I was very proud of her we did a little celebration dance.  She is still smiling like crazy, and she is very ticklish like under her neck and her chubby little thighs :)  and she is still loving her swing she just sits in there and swings and watches me do stuff around the room.  I was looking through the pictures of when she was in the hospital and its amazing how small she was, I have been so blessed that she was so healthy and strong and that she is continuing to stay healthy.

A child fills a place in your heart that you never knew was empty

So Mily is 12 weeks and 3 days old now.  I am guessing she is about 9 1/2 pounds maybe.  She is getting to be such a big girl!  Last night she slept from 12 to 5:30 which was amazing!  She is getting into more of a routine with her sleep.  She takes about a 3 hour nap around lunch and then about a 2 hour nap about 4 or so.  She is able to hold her head up great, and if you stand her up she will stand there for a little while.  I got her one of those seats that has a lot of toys around it and she sits in it and just looks around.  She doesn't play with the toys yet.  She still loves her swing and the music that it plays she will sleep twice as long in it if the music is playing.  She is also becoming a big momma's girl and likes for me to hold her instead of other people.  She has still been having problems using the bathroom so her doctor told me to give her a bottle of watered down prune juice, and after a few days of giving her one a day she is doing a lot better.  And she absolutely loves the prune juice, I am pretty sure that is because it is sweeter than her milk/formula.  She is also smiling SO much more, if you talk happy towards her and smile she will smile right back its the cutest little toothless smile ever! We went and visited Camesha and Channing on Friday and it was so funny Channing who was a week old was bigger than Mily who was 12 weeks old.  And the whole time we were there they just slept, and ate and slept some more!  Oh and I am going to have to take the net out of her bathtub because she is getting to long for it!  She gets bigger everyday and learns something new everyday its amazing! And the bigger she get the more  cuddly she is becoming, I'll be holding her and she will rub my shoulder and wrap her arms around me and it is the best feeling ever.  So to sum everything up she is pretty much perfect :)

This is Mily's first piece of artwork, we used her feet to make a flower.

we don't like shots

So Mily is 11 weeks old and 3 days.  We went to the doctor today for the last 2 of her shots and she weighed 8lbs and 10 oz!  I chose to get her vaccines spread out so she body wouldn't be overwhelmed so 2 weeks ago she had one shot and one oral vaccine, and today she got 2 shots.  Friday Mily was constipated all day and anyone that saw her knew she wasn't feeling good.  Her doctor told me to mix prune juice with water and give her a bottle of it and also to put brown sugar in all her bottles, so I am going to go buy prune juice tomorrow.  Over the past few days Mily has started clicking her tongue, its so funny.  She is also laughing more and more, I love it when she laughs! Nothing super exciting has gone on this past week, so I guess that is all for now!

joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are

Mily turned 10 weeks on Saturday!  It is crazy how fast everything is going by.  We had a great weekend, some family from Tennessee came down to visit and just loved on Mily the whole time.  Mily is now able to lay on her belly and raise up her head and chest and some of her belly, she is so strong.  And she cam scoot! She can move all the way across my bed length wise in about 10 min.  And when I sit her on my lap she can hold her head up pretty much all of the time, sometimes she is just to tired to do it.  She is also laughing a lot more, which is adorable! She used to just do it when she was asleep but friday night she did it and was looking around the room.  Mily loves swinging in her swing while listening to classical music, which I hear will help her in school.  She is also fitting pretty good in newborn clothes now, they are super loose on her anymore and she is finally getting those cute chubby baby legs with the rolls! I got a baby carrier a few weeks ago but when I first got it Mily didn't meet the weight requirement to put her in it, but she does now and she LOVES it.  I'll put her in it and go pick up our room or go downstairs to get something, she likes looking around at everything.  I am not sure how I am going to be able to leave her while I go to school! Even though I only go 2 days a week for like 2 hours, but that will be the longest I have been without her within arms reach since she got home!

Pretty dresses cute little curls ... thank heaven for little girls

Today, like the past 9 weeks has been the most amazing adventure ever.  Life with Mily is always exciting and you never know what that day is going to hold.  She had a tummy ache yesterday but she is all better now, thank goodness! She is going through a growth spurt so she sleeps all the time except when she is eating, and usually she falls asleep before she finishes eating.  When I hold her now she has started grabbing onto my shirt like she doesn't want me to put her down, and it is so cute that it works.  She slept pretty good last night, so hopefully it will keep getting better and better.  Last night she woke up and I made her bottle and she didn't want to eat so we just laid on the bed and she just talked and talked to me, it was so sweet.  I have started reading books to her and she will stare at them like she is actually understanding the story.  Mily and I might not have everything we want or be in the best situation, but we will always have each other an that is the most important thing.
